About Nicole
Nicole Sin Quee is a Chinese-Jamaican math teacher and mother who lives in the Bronx, NY. Additionally, she is a competitive multisport athlete, earning a podium spot in all six of her attempts at the National and World Championship triathlons and duathlons. She won the 40-44 AG Duathlon National Championship in 2012, just six months after the birth of her son, Simon. She is the reigning Off-Road Triathlon National Champion in the 50-54 AG.
Her DEI work includes fundraisers to benefit a number of local and national charities, multiple trips to South Africa to teach at Ridgeway College for Sumbandila, an alliance with the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa Kenya as a Zagat Global Fellow, and an affinity leader in school.
Nicole and her husband, Jonathan Cane, believe in the importance of giving back to the community. They have organized events to benefit Girls on the Run, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Locks for Love, Back on my Feet, Young Survival Coalition, and more. She is on the NYC Advisory committee for the Kelly Brush Foundation. Additionally Nicole and Jonathan co-teach a class, "Becoming a Triathlete" at the Riverdale Country School with the goal of broadening the audience to under-represented communities.
